Launching a website is exciting, but small mistakes can cost you visitors on day one. Use this checklist before you go live.
Content and design
- Every page has one clear heading and simple, correct text.
- Spelling, phone number, email and address are checked.
- The site looks good on a small phone, a tablet and a computer.
- Images are clear, sized correctly and have short descriptions (alt text).
Technical checks
- The site uses HTTPS and shows the padlock.
- Every link and button works, and the contact form sends messages to the right email.
- Pages load quickly on mobile.
- A custom 404 page or helpful error message exists.
SEO basics
- Each page has its own title and meta description.
- A sitemap is created and submitted to Google Search Console.
- Search engines are allowed to index the site. Many sites are launched by mistake with indexing switched off.
- Google Analytics or another tracking tool is installed.
Trust pages
- Privacy Policy, Terms and Disclaimer pages are published and linked in the footer.
- Contact details and business name are clear.
After launch, request indexing for your main pages in Search Console and check again after a few days. A launch is the start of the work, not the end.
We follow a checklist like this for every project. See what we offer on the services page, or talk to us about your new website.
